Flowers & Birds

Flowers and Birds series is inspired  the sunbirds and doves near by my window -- so far I have the withnessed them building nests, with their own small ways of communicating with each other and also the excitment of their young ones.

With a small tray of clean food and water, I placed by the window I see the gentle doves often. This makes me feels very contented because working at my desk could be a little bit mundane at times. I realised they are just like us in this thing called life - so do be kind to these little ones and make them your friends.

Dawn light softly breaks— a sparrow’s song fills the air, harmony takes flight.

This series also remind me of the Forest Bathing, or Shinrin-yoku in Japanese, is a practice that involves immersing yourself in a forest or natural environment to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Developed in Japan in the 1980s, it is based on the idea that spending mindful, leisurely time in nature can have profound health benefits.

How does forest bathing works: Unlike hiking or exercising outdoors, forest bathing is about slow and mindful with nature. It involves: Walking slowly and without a set destination. Engaging all five senses (observing colors, listening to birds, touching tree bark, smelling fresh air, tasting clean water). Disconnecting from technology and distractions. Breathing deeply and relaxing.

Scientific studies (particularly from Japan and South Korea) have shown that forest bathing can: Reduce Stress & Lower Cortisol – Nature exposure decreases stress hormones, promoting relaxation. Boost Immune Function – Trees release natural compounds called phytoncides, which may enhance white blood cell activity. Improve Mood & Mental Health – Reduces symptoms of anxiety, depression, and rumination. Lower Blood Pressure & Heart Rate – Helps regulate the nervous system, reducing hypertension risk. Enhance Focus & Creativity – Time in nature can restore attention and cognitive function (similar to the effects of meditation). Improve Sleep – Fresh air and reduced stress contribute to better sleep quality. Increase Energy Levels – Many people report feeling more revitalized after spending time in a forest.

It is our hope that humble collection will bring you the joy as much as it did to us.
